Fan Shao Hua (b. 1963, Guangzhou, China) is a Singapore-based artist celebrated for his poetic fusion of Eastern and Western painting traditions. Trained in oil painting at the Guangzhou Academy of Arts, Fan has spent over three decades honing a distinctive style that bridges classical technique and contemporary expression. His iconic Lotus Seriescaptures the flower’s spiritual symbolism—beauty emerging from the mud—with layered textures and graceful brushwork inspired by traditional Chinese ink painting. A winner of the UOB Painting of the Year Award (2000) and numerous international accolades, Fan has showcased his work in major museums across China, including Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Beijing. Today, he is widely regarded as one of Asia’s leading voices in contemporary art.
